CITIZENS' COMMENTS <br />Mayor Glancy announced persons that wished to make comment or make inquiry on any matter may request to <br />be recognized during Citizens' Comments. The following individuals came forward: <br />L Mr. Richard Casselberry, 413 Bridle Path, stated he owned properties in the study area and <br />thought the study contained some very good ideas for the region which he hoped the City <br />Commission would include in its future considerations while also providing additional <br />incentives to protect the rights and options of the current property owners in the area. <br />2. Mr. Neil Landgrebe, 451 Lilac Road, stated he felt the study was very important for the <br />property owners and residents along North Winter Park Drive who were really in need of the <br />City's assistance, and expressed support for some of the recommendations contained in the <br />study. <br />3. Mr. Walt Bagley, 614 Doheny Way, expressed some concerns about transportation in the <br />study area, stating he felt the City should look further into the possibility of working with the <br />Lynx bus system to establish public transportation routes in the area. <br />No one else came forward. <br />Discussion: A brief discussion ensued regarding the Findings and Recommendations for the North Winter <br />Park Drive Small Area Study as presented, which included: clarification on the next steps to be taken; timeline <br />for preparation and submission of an ordinance establishing a new zoning district with design standards for <br />City Commission consideration; possible solutions for disposition of City -owned properties in the area, <br />including possible donation to Habitat for Humanity for development into examples of what new single-family <br />or duplex homes could bring to the area; affordable housing options and goals for transitioning over time to <br />single family detached homes in the area through private development; and the importance of re -zoning to <br />accommodate and encourage this type of re -development of the area. <br />6.
