RESOLUTION 19-3131 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE NORTH WINTER PARK <br />DRIVE SMALL AREA STUDY FROM CANIN ASSOCIATES; <br />PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on February 19, 2018, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry <br />directed staff to pursue a small area study of the part of the City centered along North Winter Park <br />Drive and the associated Census Tract 221.01 that were determined to contain blighted conditions <br />through a University of Central Florida planning study; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission has taken positive steps to improve conditions for all <br />City residents, including those within the North Winter Park Drive corridor, through adoption of <br />the Healthy Communities Element in the City's Comprehensive Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, following proper solicitation through procurement of RFP -2018-0311, the <br />land planning firm of Canin Associates was selected to perform the North Winter Park Drive Small <br />Area Study by the City Commission on June 11, 2018; and <br />WHEREAS, Canin Associates commenced research and ultimately conducted two (2) <br />public workshops within the defined study area for community outreach and consensus building <br />to identify existing conditions and to determine recommendations and actions that the City of <br />Casselberry can take to promote this area; and <br />WHEREAS, Canin Associates created an Existing Conditions Memorandum and a <br />Recommendations Memorandum that collectively encompasses the North Winter Park Drive <br />Small Area Study identifying existing conditions and land use patterns, providing <br />recommendations for redevelopment, and becoming the guiding document for future actions <br />through land use regulations and development within this area of the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby accepts the North <br />Winter Park Drive Small Area Study, attached hereto as "Exhibit A" Existing Conditions <br />Memorandum and "Exhibit B" Recommendations Memorandum, as guiding documents for future <br />development. <br />Resolution 19-3131 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
