CITY CLERK'S REPORT The Deputy City Clerk provided reminders for the following upcoming workshop and events: o Joint Workshop of the City Commission and the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board, Monday, April 29` at 6:30 p.m. in the Police Department Multi -Purpose Room o EarthFest 2019 — 10t" Anniversary Celebration, Saturday, April 27` from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Lake Concord Park o Art & Music in the Park and Food Truck Bazaar, Friday, May 10"' from 6-9 p.m. at Lake Concord Park 17. CITY COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS/COMMENTS Commissioner Andrew Meadows — Seat No. 2 • Shared that when he was recently on walking tours in Savannah he found that brick pavers were indeed a trip hazard causing him to constantly have to watch where he stepped, and so he felt staff's suggestion to make the pedestrian crossings smooth was a very good thing. • Congratulated staff on "Bike Casselberry Day" and thanked them for their contributions to having the City of Casselberry participate in the Bike 5 Cities event on May 4". Commissioner Mark Busch - Seat No. 3 • Attended his first Seminole County Community Alliance meeting on April 17"'. He stated there had not been a quorum present, but there had been a very interesting presentation by a group called Companions for Courage which brings therapy dogs into court or into depositions as companions to provide support for juveniles who have to testify. Commissioner Bill Hufford — Seat No. 4: • Thanked staff who had helped promote and get the City of Casselberry involved in the Bike 5 Cities event on May 4"', stating he was glad to see the City playing an active role in what was going on in Central Florida. • Thanked the City Attorney and the City Manager for being persistent in working towards a successful resolution of the duck hunting issue with FWC. Vice Mayor Anthony Aramendia — Seat No. 1: • Encouraged everyone to attend EarthFest on Saturday, April 27"', which is celebrating its tenth year and is the largest event of its kind in Seminole County and the second largest in Central Florida.
