ORDINANCE 18-1487 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />AMENDING SECTION 86-224, INSTALLATION AND REPAIR OF <br />DIVISION 4, METERS, ARTICLE III, WATER, CHAPTER 86, <br />UTILITIES, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, TO PROVIDE FLEXIBILITY FOR THE <br />INSTALLATION OF METERS AT COMMERCIAL BUSINESSES; <br />PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City would like to be able to have contractors furnish and install larger <br />water meters at commercial businesses, at the expense of the commercial business; and <br />WHEREAS, words with double underlined type shall constitute additions to the original <br />text and strike through type shall constitute deletions to the original text, and asterisks (* * *) <br />indicate that text shall remain unchanged from the language existing prior to adoption of this <br />Ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. Section 86-224, Installation and Repair of Division 8, Meters, Article III, <br />Water, Chapter 86, Utilities, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Casselberry, Florida, is <br />hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Sect. 86-224. Installation and repair. <br />*** <br />(a) All meters less than or equal to 2 inches in size shall be furnished and installed by <br />the City after the applicant _ owner or financially upon the application of any owner or <br />responsible party has paid, in full. paying the water benefit charge, plus the required <br />meter deposit and any other charges due where applicable. All meters greater than 2 <br />inches in size shall be furnished and installed by=A licensed contractor under City <br />supervision or by the City, at the City's sole discretion All meters not installed by the <br />City must be approved by the City prior to installation A water service account must <br />be opened prior to activation of the meter by the owner or authorized occupant of the <br />ro ertv. All meters so furnished and installed shall remain the property of the City <br />and subject to the absolute and exclusive control of the City. <br />SECTION II. CODIFICATION. It is the intention of the City Commission of the City <br />of Casselberry, Florida, and it is hereby ordained that the provisions of this Ordinance shall <br />become and be made a part of the Code of Ordinance of the City of Casselberry, Florida; that the <br />Sections of this Ordinance may be renumbered or re -lettered to accomplish such intention; that <br />
