CITY OF CASSELBERRY <br />PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD <br />The City of Casselberry Parks & Recreation Advisory Board held a regular meeting on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 <br />at 6:30 p.m. in the City of Casselberry Commission Chambers, 95 Triplet Lake Drive, Casselberry, Florida. <br />Call to Order <br />Chairman Melissa Holmes called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br />2. Pledge of Allegiance <br />Chairman Melissa Holmes led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />3. Roll Call <br />Board Members Present: <br />Melissa Holmes - Chairman Dana Callan <br />Courtney Icenhower —Vice Chairman Linsey Lallathin <br />Katy Farmer <br />Board Members Absent: N/A <br />Staff Members Present: <br />Linda Moore, Recreation Manager <br />Joanne Duncan, Recording Secretary <br />4. Approval of Minutes—June 12, 2018 <br />Member Icenhower made a motion that the minutes be approved and Member Farmer seconded <br />the motion. Motion passed unanimously 5 -0. <br />5. Items for Discussion: <br />• Dr. Kelly Brock briefly discussed the FRDAP Grant proposal for the development of a new park in <br />northern Casselberry, "Wheel Park -Casselberry". The application is due August 15, 2018 with a <br />maximum grant request of $250K and must be matched dollar -for -dollar by the applicant. The <br />goal of the grant is to provide additional recreation opportunities for youth under the age of 12 <br />with a special focus on providing recreation opportunities for children with unique abilities and be <br />usable to those with physical and developmental disabilities. Dr. Brock stated that the proposed <br />area is currently underserved and that 57% of the residents in Casselberry are under the age of 18. <br />Member Lallathin made a motion that the PRAB support this Grant application and Member Farmer <br />seconded the motion. Motion was passed unanimously 5-0. <br />• Linda Moore briefly discussed a proposal for an Ice Cream Block Party event to be held at Lake <br />Hodge Park on Saturday, Nov. 17 from noon until 3 p.m. This event was scheduled based on <br />
