Planning & Zoning Commission/ <br />Local Planning Agency <br />July 12, 2017 <br />Page 4 <br />Mr. Van Meter stated that tonight's decision is a recommendation to the City Commission. He said the City <br />Commission makes the final decision. A brief discussion ensued regarding how other municipalities are handling this <br />item. <br />Ms. Hanna said that the City Attorney advised that the moratorium was the best option at this time. <br />Mr. Henson asked for a motion to address LPA 17-05. Mr. Bryan made a motion the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission recommend approval of LPA 17-05 and hereby amend Section 2-5.3, Table 2-5.3 "Land Use by District" <br />by removing Medical Marijuana Dispensaries and Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers and repealing Section 2- <br />7.34 "Medical Marijuana Dispensaries and Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers". Mr. Van Meter seconded the <br />motion. The motion passed unanimously by voice vote. <br />Mr. Henson asked for a motion to address LPA 17-06. Mr. Van Meter made a motion that the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission recommend approval of LPA 17-06 and hereby establish a temporary moratorium of one <br />hundred and eighty days prohibiting the operation of Medical Marijuana Treatment Center Dispensing Facilities <br />including the exhibit attached to the staff report. Mr. Bakalla seconded the motion. The motion passed with a <br />majority vote with Mr. Lutz and Mr. Phillips casting the dissenting votes. <br />Eighth Item of Business: Other Business. <br />There was no other business. <br />Ninth Item of Business: Adjournment. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr. Henson adjourned the meeting at 7:06 p.m. <br />Date Minutes Approved by Planning and Zoning Commission: r i` <br />Joni Dixon/Secretary <br />
