Community Redevelopment Agency <br />February 26, 2018 Minutes <br />Page 5 of 5 <br />the purpose of pointing out the parking to the east is that area still needs to be programmed and it may compliment or <br />subsidize what we may or may not be able to provide somewhere else. In response to the Board's question <br />regarding the purchase price for the property across the street from the Police Station, Mr. Newlon said the cost is $2 <br />million before development. <br />In response to the Board's question, Mr. Newlon said that there is no action required today. He said ACi <br />would provide a second presentation looking at the option of selling the Police Station to a private developer. He <br />said staff would come back in the future for the CRA's recommendation for the Police Station property. <br />In response to the Board's comment, Mr. Newlon said that sometimes the cost of renovation could cost as <br />much as constructing a new building. He said that the police building is not situated on the site to provide the optimal <br />use for the new purpose. <br />A general discussion ensued regarding the event center being used as a multipurpose use and providing <br />more information on case studies for other municipalities. <br />Sixth Item: Other Business. <br />There was no other business. <br />Seventh Item of Business: Public Comments. <br />Ms. Glancy asked for public comment.
