CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of August 14, 2017 — workshop Page 2 of 3 Presentation: Deputy Public Works Director/City Engineer Kelly Brock introduced Mr. Paul Yeargain of VHB, the design consultant for all three of the projects which were the subject of the workshop. He advised that all three projects were relatively small projects and were all included in the City's Multimodal Transportation Master Plan (MTMP) adopted in 2016, and had also been through the MetroPlan Orlando prioritization process. He then gave a presentation on the three projects which included the following components: Project Background U Queens Mirror Circle Pedestrian Safety Improvements • Anticipated Schedule • Project Location • Project Limits • Project Objectives • Draft Plan • Additional Staff Recommendations • Summary of Public Input • Discussion U Quail Pond Circle Complete Street/Pedestrian Connectivity Improvements • Anticipated Schedule • Project Location • Project Context • Project Limits • Project Objectives • Draft Plan • Additional Staff Recommendations • Summary of Public Input • Discussion Southcot Drive Bicycle/Pedestrian Improvements • Anticipated Schedule • Project Location • Project Context • Project Limits • Project Objectives • Draft Plan • Additional Staff Recommendations • Summary of Public Input • Discussion Questions & Discussion Discussion: Discussion ensued after each project overview which included issues such as: brick vs. concrete vs. asphalt for crosswalks; impact of the flashing of speed feedback signs and effectiveness of the signs; impact, cost, maintenance and safety issues related to bricked intersections; and traffic congestion in the school zone areas. The Commission reached a consensus on the guidance requested by staff on each ofthe projects as follows:
