RESOLUTION 18-3005 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING A PIGGYBACK AGREEMENT WITH WASTE PRO OF FLORIDA, INC. FOR RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE COLLECTION SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City wishes to continue to provide residential solid waste collection for its customers; and WHEREAS, the current agreement with Waste Pro of Florida, Inc. (Waste Pro) for said services expires on March 31, 2018; and WHEREAS, Seminole County has recently negotiated the terms and conditions of a new contractual agreement with Waste Pro for residential solid waste collection services; and WHEREAS, Waste Pro has agreed to extend the same services to the City at the same rate as referenced in their agreement with Seminole County; and WHEREAS, the new base rate for services charged to the City will be $13.01/home per month for regular and special collection services and $26.02/home per month for side door collection services for customers without a debilitating medical condition; and WHEREAS, the City charges customers $18.42/home per month for regular and special collection services [$11.92 (base rate) + $4 (disposal) + $2.50 (Admin fee)] and $28.42/home per month for side door collection services for customers without a documented medical condition [$21.92 (base rate) + $4 (disposal) + $2.50 (Admin fee); and WHEREAS, City staff recommends upholding the current rates charged to its customers; and WHEREAS, City staff has reviewed the agreement between Seminole County and Waste Pro and found it favorable to meet the needs of the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMIISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby authorizes the piggyback agreement with Waste Pro of Florida, Inc. for residential solid waste collection services at a new base rate of $13.01/home per month for regular and special collection services and $26.02/home per month for side door collection services, effective April 1, 2018, and authorizes the Mayor to execute said document on behalf of the City. SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed.
