RESOLUTION 17-2992 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, <br />FLORIDA, RENAMING VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK <br />TO VETERANS PARK; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, parks provide a place to build community, host programs, and are a <br />welcome respite from our fast -paced life; and <br />WHEREAS, the community has demonstrated they value the importance of parks in <br />their neighborhoods; and <br />WHEREAS, Veterans Memorial Park has undergone a recent renovation and more <br />citizens are using the park for reflective purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, renaming Veterans Memorial Park to Veterans Park will now honor all <br />veterans who serve and have served; and <br />WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board recommended the name change <br />at their regularly scheduled meeting on February 14, 2017. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The name of Veterans Memorial Park will now be changed and the park <br />renamed to Veterans Park. <br />SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of <br />the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION III. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution <br />proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the <br />validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br />SECTION IV.
