CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of September 18, 2017 — Special Meeting <br />Page 5 of 14 <br />E. Council of Local Governments in Seminole County (CALNO) Report <br />No report. <br />F. Seminole County Redevelopment Planning_ Agency Report <br />No report. City Clerk Donna Gardner advised that the County had suspended activity indefinitely for the RPA <br />and this item would be removed from firture agendas until it was re -activated. <br />A. Resolution 17-2983 — Extending the Declaration of a State of Public Emergency <br />The City Cleric read Resolution 17-2983 by title as follows: <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />PROVIDING FOR FURTHER EXTENSION OF THE DECLARATION OF A STATE OF PUBLIC <br />EMERGENCY PREVIOUSLY APPROVED BY RESOLUTION 17-2982 THROUGH TUESDAY, <br />SEPTEMBER 26, 2017 EXPIRING AT MIDNIGHT, AS PROVIDED BY CHAPTER 30 OF THE <br />CASSELBERRY CODE OF ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />Staff Presentation: City Manager Randy Newlon explained that Resolution 17-2983 was for the purpose of <br />extending the state of public emergency for another week to provide assurance that the City had the power to <br />respond to any uncertainties that still remained as a result of Hurricane Irma. In response to questions from <br />Commissioner Hufford, Mr. Newlon confirmed that debris collection would most likely last longer and an <br />additional longer extension of the state of emergency would be brought for Commission consideration at the <br />September 25til regular Commission meeting if deemed necessary. <br />Discussion: Due to the impacts caused by Hurricane Irma, it is necessary to extend the state of public <br />emergency to Tuesday, September 26, 2017, expiring at midnight. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager recommended approval of Resolution 17-2983. <br />Audience Participation: No one came forward to address Resolution 17-2983. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Solomon moved to approve Resolution 17-2983, as presented. <br />Motion was seconded by Vice Mayor Aramendia. Motion carried unanimously <br />by voice vote 5-0. <br />B. Resolution 17-2984 — Declaration of Paramount Public Purpose <br />The City Clerk read Resolution 17-2984 by title as follows: <br />
