RESOLUTION 16 -2879 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE FIRE AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL <br />SERVICES INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN SEMINOLE <br />COUNTY AND CITY OF CASSELBERRY; PROVIDING FOR <br />CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry had maintained fire and emergency medical service <br />protection for the benefit of its residents and the community; and <br />WHEREAS, consolidation of Fire and Emergency Medical Services from the City of <br />Casselberry into Seminole County had been considered for several years and is expected to lead <br />to higher levels of organizational and cost efficiencies; and <br />WHEREAS, Seminole County agreed to render to the City of Casselberry fire and <br />emergency medical services, and the City of Casselberry desired to receive such services upon <br />the terms and conditions set forth in an Interlocal Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry approved said Interlocal Agreement on December <br />14, 2014 via Resolution 14 -2685; and <br />WHEREAS, the consolidation of Fire and Emergency Medical Services did transfer <br />from the City of Casselberry to Seminole County on October 1, 2015; and <br />WHEREAS, the parties desire to amend the Agreement so as to clarify the provision <br />regarding the fire taxes and fees, to provide for City's fire impact fees, to modify the cost <br />responsibility for maintenance of Fire Station 25 set forth in the Attachment C Lease of Fire <br />Station 25, to modify the list of personal property being transferred from the City of Casselberry <br />to Seminole County, and to enable both parties to continue to enjoy the mutual benefits the <br />Agreement provides; and <br />WHEREAS, City of Casselberry staff has reviewed the First Amendment to the <br />Interlocal Agreement and finds it acceptable to meet the needs of the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the First <br />Amendment to the Fire and Emergency Medical Services Interlocal Agreement Between <br />Seminole County and City of Casselberry (attached as Exhibit A), and authorizes the Mayor to <br />execute said document on behalf of the City. <br />
