The City of Casselberry's Parks & Recreation Advisory Board held its regular meeting <br />Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, in the City of Casselberry Commission Chambers, 95 Triplet <br />Lake Drive, Casselberry, Florida. Chair Daphne Keys called the meeting to order at 7:00 <br />pm. <br />Board Members Present: <br />Daphne Keys- Chair <br />Dia Nordstrom <br />• .. �� �, , t <br />Ana VanMeter Ted Weeks <br />Nancy Valentine <br />Staff Present: <br />Linda Moore, Recreation Manager <br />Joanne Duncan, Recording Secretary <br />Guests <br />Ginger Corless, Director of Community Planning and Design, Tindale -Oliver <br />Kristin Caborn, Sr. Planning Manager, GAI Consultants Service Group <br />Audience <br />Mr. John Casselberry <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Ana VanMeter moved to approve the August 9, 2016 minutes as written. Dia Nordstrom <br />seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />1111MIM M., <br />Presentation of the Parks, Recreation, Pathways and open Spaces Master Plan with <br />Tindale Oliver consultants: <br />1) Introduction of Ginger Corless and Kristin Caborn <br />2) Discussed the scope of the Master Plan (Tindale Oliver will provide a copy to the <br />PRAB members) <br />3) The Parks were inventoried and reviewed and ranked to show the status <br />4) Reviewed the Master Plans strengths, weaknesses and opportunities. Members <br />were given a log sheet to input their thoughts and ideas. <br />5) Public outreach and Focus Group Meetings in process of being scheduled for public <br />and community input. <br />6) Board Members participated in the Strengths, Weaknesses, and Opportunities <br />(SWO) Activity <br />7) Items briefly discussed <br />a) Dog parks — location of wash areas, ground products used and sizes <br />b) Parking for events (seen as a weakness) — lack of due to present construction <br />c) Multi -generational playgrounds — interest for senior community <br />d) Soccer — is becoming a growing demand. Concern about field needs- is there an <br />opportunity to use the back fields at local schools. <br />e) Skate parks -current trends and future trends that include skate spots and skate <br />trails <br />
