Seminole County Redevelopment Planning Agency Report <br />Vice Mayor Solomon reported she had attended a meeting on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at which funding had <br />been approved for the City of Sanford to make improvements along U.S. Highway 17 -92, including lighting and <br />bricking of streets. She added that a vacuum business in Fern Park had also gotten approval for funding to <br />improve its building fayade. She advised that there had been some discussion about Oxford Place, the County's <br />plans for development in the area of Oxford Road, and Mr. Birdoff's plans for development of his properties. <br />G. Lake Concord Park (City Center) Development Report <br />City Manager Randy Newlon reported that the project's consultants and engineers were expected to turn in new <br />plans on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 for review by the Development Review Committee (DRC), and that <br />preliminary numbers had been received from Wharton Smith for the cost of all the various development projects <br />being considered for the Lake Concord Park (City Center) project and were currently being reviewed by staff.. <br />Commissioner Aramendia expressed disappointment and concerns about the renderings he had seen of thebuil&g <br />facades for the project. He suggested that the Commissioners should speak with the developers to let them know <br />that the preliminary renderings were not reflective of what was intended for the project. Several of the <br />Commissioners also expressed concerns about what they had seen so far, and Mr. Newlon advised that the <br />renderings which had been presented were very, very preliminary, and staff was working with the developers to <br />ensure they were aware of the City's expectations with regard to the appearance and quality of the project. <br />Commissioner Aramendia reiterated that the most recent renderings were not of the quality and appearance that <br />had previously been represented, and he had some serious concerns about that.
