an abnormal tidal surge or by some similarly unusual and unforeseeable event <br />which results in flooding as defined in paragraph (1) (a) of this definition. <br />MA <br />.. <br />_. <br />Flood insurance rate map (FIRM) means an official map of a community on which the <br />Federal Emergency Management Agency has delineated both the areas of special <br />flood hazard and the risk premium zones applicable to the community. <br />Flood insurance study means the official report provided by the Federal Emergeney <br />Management Ageney. The report contains flood PFOfiles, as well as the fie <br />boundary floodway map and the wateF surfaGe elevation of the base fl <br />FIS is <br />the official hydraulic & hydrologic report provided by FEMA. The study contains an <br />examination, evaluation, and determination of flood hazards, and, if appropriate, <br />corresponding water surface elevations, or an examination evaluation, and <br />determination of mudslide (i.e., mudflow) and other flood - related erosion hazards. <br />The study may also contain flood profiles, as well as the FIRM and other related data <br />and information. <br />Floodalain means any land area susceptible to being inundated by water from any <br />source (see definition of "flooding "l. <br />Floodalain manaaement means the _operation of an overall proaram of corrective and <br />preventive measures for reducing flood damage and preserving and enhancing <br />where possible, natural re_ sources in the floodplain, including but not limited to <br />emeraencv preparedness plans, flood control works floodplain management <br />regulations, and open space plans. <br />Floodalain manaaement reaulations means this ordinance and other zonin <br />ordinances, subdivision regulations, building codes, health regulations, special <br />purpose ordinances (such as floodplain ordinance, grading ordinance, and erosion <br />control ordinancel and other applications of police power which control development <br />in flood -prone areas This term describes Federal State of Florida. or local <br />reaulations in anv combination thereof, which provide standards for preventing and <br />reducing flood loss and damage. <br />Flood -prone area — see Floodalain. <br />Floodaroofina means anv combination of structural and non - structural additions, <br />changes or adjustments to structures, which reduce or eliminate flood damage to <br />real estate or improved real property, water and sanitary facilities, structures and their <br />contents. <br />
