F. Replacement Standard. The specifications for the replacement of trees is provided in <br />the following categories: <br />1. Developed property with an approved landscape plan. <br />a. All sites with an approved landscape plan shall replace trees according to the <br />original permitted landscape plan approval. <br />b. If the tree removed from the site was not part of the approved landscape plan, <br />tree replacement will not be required. <br />c. An alternative species may be used where the tree does not form part of a row <br />or cluster of trees which forin and create the landscape aesthetics of the site. <br />The replacement tree will be of similar characteristics to the tree removed. <br />d. A tree of less shade or screening potential may be provided where the <br />applicant can show that the site is unable to accommodate a tree of equal <br />shade or screening potential of the tree removed. <br />The applicant will be required to show that the tree has been planted in excess of <br />those provided as part of the site plan. <br />2. Property without an approved landscape plan. <br />Tree replacement for sites which do not have an approved landscape plan shall be <br />determined as follows: <br />a. The site shall be reviewed to assess whether it meets the required site tree <br />standards: <br />i. Not fewer than three trees per 6,000 square feet. <br />ii. All trees used to meet site requirements must be above 6 inches caliper, be <br />certified by a tree expert to be in a healthy condition and be a preferred <br />tree as defined within this ordinance. <br />b. The applicant shall provide the: <br />i. Site area, <br />ii. Impervious/ pervious calculations, <br />iii. Number, species, size (caliper) and location of all trees on site (excluding <br />undesirable). <br />c. Credit shall be ap lied to healthy trees on site as follows: <br />Tree size <br />Credit <br />>20" to <29" <br />= 2 trees <br />>30" to <39" <br />= 3 trees <br />>40" to <49" <br />= 4 trees <br />>50" <br />= 5 trees <br />d. Where the site meets tree requirements, replacements trees will not be <br />required. <br />e. Where the site does not meet tree requirements, the size and number of <br />additional trees to be replaced shall be determined based upon the caliper of <br />the tree removed in accordance with the table below. <br />Ordinance 15 -1419 <br />Page 9 <br />
