CITY OF CASSELBERRY PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD The City of Casselberry's Parks & Recreation Advisory Board held its regular meeting Tuesday, May 13, 2014 in the City of Casselberry Commission Chambers, 95 Triplet Lake Drive, Casselberry, Florida. Daphne Keys called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. Board Members Present: Jessica Eckhart Daphne Keys Ana Mancheno Cheryl Evans Board Members Absent: Staff Present* Linda Moore, Recreation Manager Karen Sorrentino, Recording Secretary Audience John Casselberry Matt King (UCF Student) Approval of Minutes Ms. Evans moved to approve the March 11, 2014 minutes as written. Ms. Eckhart seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Staff Report: • Hooked on Fishing Clinic — On May 17, 2014, instructors from Fish Florida will be on site to hold fishing classes at five separate stations in the park. Each participant will receive a fishing pole. Friends of the Park will hold a cookout for the event participants. • Hot Rods & Rock N Roll Show — Will be held on May 24, 2014. Hot Rod Classic cars (130) will be displayed. RV's art work will be displayed in Sculpture Center, Phil Bonnano and Ghost Riders will be providing musical entertainment for the evening. • Daddy - Daughter Dance — The Daddy- Daughter Dance will be held on June 6, 2014. The cost will be $20.00 per couple. • Wirz Pool — The pool will open on May 24, 2014 and close on September 1, 2014. Swimming lessons start on June 9, 2014. • Summer Camp — Summer Camp will be held at Casselberry Elementary School from June 2, 2014 -- July 25, 2014. • Latin Jazz Festival — The next Latin Jazz Festival will be held on September 27, 2014. • Hero Games — The Hero Games event will be held on October 18, 2014. The 5k run proceeds will benefit residents with special needs. • Movie's in the Park — Possible cancellation of event due to very low turnout. • Farmer's Market -- Will be moving to Saturday instead of Sunday in the near future.
