Based on the City's demographics, there is a <br />void in mid -point food and restaurant concepts, particularly as it relates to where they are located within the City <br />limits. <br />They additionally stated that there may be opportunities for a senior living facility, simulation software <br />companies and partnerships with other economic driving groups such as the University of Central Florida. The need <br />for better synergy between the business and restaurant community was also a topic of conversation. <br />Mr. Dudgeon stated that he would edit the list for final approval from the board at the next meeting. <br />EDAB Recommendations White Paper - draft <br />Mr. Kyle Dudgeon, Economic Development Planner, stated that the board has reviewed several concepts <br />and has been successful in deriving their recommendations to improving the business climate of the City. He stated <br />that the material and discussion topics to date have been sufficient in bringing forward a recommendations white <br />paper. The purpose of the paper is to summarize the board's discussions and help readers understand the issue. He <br />stated that staff is presenting this as a draft so the board may have the opportunity to change any of the information <br />before the final draft is submitted. <br />The board commented on each recommendation and provided edits on each item. They felt revisions need <br />to be made to the 'major actions /tactics' list to more holistically encompass the board's thoughts. It also creates a <br />stronger framework for each recommendation's goal. The board additionally questioned how this document would be <br />used going forward. <br />Mr. Dudgeon stated that once it has been approved by the board, it will be presented to the City <br />Commission. He stated that because the board is in an advisory capacity, it will ultimately be up to the City <br />Commission on which strategies that they would like to move forward with. <br />
