Community Redevelopment Agency
June 25, 2014
Ninth Item of Business: Public Comments
Mr. John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, Casselberry, Florida came forward. Mr. Casselberry
questioned the CRA Board committing funds for land acquisition. Mr. Casselberry suggested the Board should be
flexible with their funding until the State Road 436 /US Highway 17/92 Flyover Project is completed. He suggested
the Board assist with funding of temporary roads during the intersection improvement project. He said construction
harms businesses so you want to keep traffic flowing.
Mr. Casselberry questioned the vote on the motion for the extension of the Walter Judge facade grant and
consolidation of the Fire Department. Mr. Casselberry said as long as the City can support the Fire Department they
should not consolidate with Seminole County.
Mr. Casselberry said that Lake Mary has the lowest millage rate in the County and he suggested that the
City look at how other cities budget items. Mr. Casselberry felt that the consolidation of the City's Police Department
with Seminole County would save more money but he wasn't sure if either consolidation was a good thing at this
time.
Tenth Item of Business: Adjournment
a.m.
There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr. McGregor adjourned the meeting at 10:20
DATE MINUTES APPROVED BY COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY:
J0f Dixon, Secretary
