RESOLUTION 15 -2786 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />ADOPTING THE FINAL MILLAGE RATE OF 3.1201 MILLS FOR THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING <br />OCTOBER 1, 2015 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30,2016; ANNOUNCING <br />THE PERCENTAGE BY WHICH THE MILLAGE DOES NOT EXCEED <br />THE ROLLED -BACK RATE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry held an initial public <br />hearing as required by Florida Statute 200.065 on the tentative millage rate on September 14, <br />2015; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry has determined that a tax <br />levy of 3.1201 mills should be levied on all taxable real and personal property in the City of <br />Casselberry Florida for Fiscal Year 2015 -2016; and <br />WHEREAS, the gross taxable value for operating purposes not exempt from taxation <br />within the City of Casselberry has been certified by the Seminole County Property Appraiser to <br />be $1,094,575,223; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry desires to adopt the final <br />millage rate and publicly announce the percentage change by which the final millage rate does <br />not exceed the rolled -back rate; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry deems that this Resolution <br />is in the best interest of the public health, safety, welfare and well -being of the citizens of <br />Casselberry. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRRY, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. Final Millage Rate. The City Commission adopts its final millage rate of <br />3.1201 for the Fiscal Year commencing October 1, 2015 and ending September 30, 2016. <br />SECTION II. Rolled -Back Rate. The final operating millage of 3.1201 mills is a 38.46 <br />percent decrease from the computed rolled -back rate of 5.0703 as certified by the Seminole <br />County Property Appraiser. <br />SECTION III. Notification to Seminole County. Within three (3) days of the date of <br />this Resolution, the City Cleric shall forward this Resolution adopting the final millage rate to the <br />Seminole County Property Appraiser and the Seminole County Tax Collector. <br />SECTION IV. Notification to the State of Florida. Within thirty (30) days of the date <br />of this Resolution, the City Clerk shall certify compliance with Chapter 200, Florida Statutes by <br />causing the Certificate of Compliance, along with all necessary documentation, to be sent to the <br />Property Tax Administration of the Department of Revenue. <br />
