districts and their peculiar use of land throughout the City. <br />C� <br />11, 1511: 110 11 1111 110''RIFF11 <br />111, 1 1 ��ii i I WIN! <br />of this ordinance shall be the minimum requirements for the pro- <br />motion of public health, safety, convenience, comfort, moral-41, <br />prosperity and general welfare; to conserve the taxable value <br />• land and buildings and to protect the character and maintain <br />the stability of residential, business and industrial areas <br />within the City and to promote the orderly and beneficial devel- <br />W <br />opment of such areas. Among other purposes, such provisions <br />are intended to provide adequate light, air, privacy and cora <br />venience of access to property; to avoid undue concentration <br />of population by regulating and limiting the height and bulk <br />#f buildings and structures; the size of open spaces surrounding <br />buildings; to establish building lines; to divide the City into <br />districts restricting and regulating therein the construction, <br />reconstruction, alteration and use of buildings, structures <br />and land for residence, business, industry and other specified <br />uses and to limit congestion in public streets by providing <br />CD <br />off-street parking of motor vehicles and to define the powers <br />and duties of the administrative officers and the City Council <br />as provided herein. <br />It is not intended by this ordinance to interfere <br />with or abrogate or annul any ordinance, rules, regulations, <br />or permits previously adopted or issued, and not in conflict <br />with any of the provisions of this ordinance, or which shall <br />be adopted or issued pursuant to law relating to the use of <br />buildings or premises, and likewise not in conflict with this <br />IM <br />
