A subordinante building or portion of main building, the use of which is incidental to that of the main buildings and which occupies the same parcel of land, (b) Apartment House. A building, or structure used or intended to be used as the dwelling place of three or more families living independently of each other (see also Dwelling, Multipla). (c) Boarding House. A building other than a hotel, where lodging or meals or both are served for compensation. (d) Building, Height of* The vertical distance measured from the grade to the mean height of the slope of the main roof. The height of a wall is the vertical distance from the grade to the mean level of the top of the wall, including any dormers or gables on the well. (e) Dwelling, Single Family. A detached building designed for, or occupied exclusively by, one family• (f) Dmrelling Two Family (Duplex). A detached building designed for, or occupied exclusively by, two families independently of each other, (g) Df7selling, Multiple. A building or portion thereof used or intended to be used as a dwelling place of three or more families living independently of each other. (h) Family. One or more persons occupying a premises and living as a.single housekeeping unit, as distinguished from a group occupying a boarding house, lodging house or hotel as herein defined. (i) Frontageb All the property abutting on one (1) side of a street. (j) Garage Apartment and Guest Apartment. A detached accessory building wholly or partly designed for automobile storage and /or accomodation of not more than one family. (k) Garage, Private. A building or space used as an accessory to or a part of a main building, permitted in any residence district for the storage of motor vehicles. (1) Garage, Public. Any building or premises, other than a private or storage garage= used for the storage or care of motor vehicles, or where any such vehicles are equipped for operation. repaired or kept for remuneration, hire or sale, (m) Guest House, Any dwelling in which rooms are rented for guests or for lodginf of transients and travelers for compensation and so advertised to the public. (n) Hotel. A building or other structure kept, used, maintained, advertised as or held out to the public to be a place where sleeping accomodations are supplied for pay to transient or permanent guests or tenants, in which ten or more rooms are furnished for the accommodation of such guests, and having or not having one or more dining rooms, restaurants or cafes where meals or lunches are served to transient or permanent guests, such sleeping accomodations and dining rooms, restaurants or cafes, if existing, being conducted in the same building or buildings in connection therewith. (o) Lodging (Rooming) rouse® Any house, or other structure, where living or sleeping quarters, but not housekeeping accommodations are supplied for pay to transient or permanent guests or :tenants. (p) Lot (Parcel). Land consisting of one or more than one contig- uous lots of record occupied or to be occupied by a building and its accessory buildings with such open spaces as are required by ordinance and fronting on a thoroughfare. (q) Lot, Corner. Lot situated at the junction of two or more streets and having a depth not greater than seventy-five (75) feet.
