RESOLUTION 15 -2712 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE APPROVAL OF A RATE ADJUSTMENT BASED ON THE 2014 CONSUMER PRICE INDEX IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE COOPERATIVE PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE COLLECTION WITH WASTE PRO OF FLORIDA, INC.; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, via Ordinance 10 -1311, the City entered into a cooperative purchase agreement for solid waste collection services with Waste Pro of Florida, Inc. based on a competitively bid agreement between Waste Pro and Seminole County; and WHEREAS, said agreement includes a rate adjustment matrix that provides for annual consideration of the previous year's consumer price index (CPI); and WHEREAS, Seminole County agreed to calculate and provide the City with annual CPI data provided by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics and the U.S. Energy Information Administration; and WHEREAS, the rate payable to Waste Pro for residential solid waste collection will increase from $13.34 per home per month to $13.40 per home per month; and WHEREAS, the costs for side door collection services for residents who do not have a debilitating condition will increase from an additional $10.71 per home per month to $10.96 per home per month; and WHEREAS, it is recommended that the charges to City residents for garbage collection and disposal remain at the current rate of $11.92 per home per month (with the exception of side door collection services); and WHEREAS, Public Works staff has reviewed the CPI data submitted by Seminole County and recommends a rate adjustment accordingly. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves a rate adjustment based on the 2014 Consumer Price Index payable to Waste Pro for residential solid waste collection, increasing the base rate from $13.34 per home per month to $13.40 per home per month, (with an additional $10.96 charged for side door collection services for residents without a debilitating condition), based on data provided by Seminole County. SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed.
