RESOLUTION 14 -2685 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />FIRE AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES INTERLOCAL <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN SEMINOLE COUNTY AND CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry has maintained fire and emergency medical service <br />protection for the benefit of its residents and the community; and <br />WHEREAS, consolidation of Fire and Emergency Medical Services from the City of <br />Casselberry into Seminole County has been considered for several years and is expected to lead <br />to higher levels of organizational and cost efficiencies; and <br />WHEREAS, Seminole County agrees to render to the City of Casselberry fire and <br />emergency medical services, and the City of Casselberry desires to receive such services upon <br />the terms and conditions set forth in an Interlocal Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the current level of fire and emergency medical services that the residents <br />of the City currently enjoy will continue to be provided by the Seminole County Fire Department <br />after consolidation occurs; and <br />WHEREAS, City of Casselberry staff has reviewed the Interlocal Agreement and finds it <br />acceptable to meet the needs of the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the Fire <br />and Emergency Medical Services Interlocal Agreement Between Seminole County and City of <br />Casselberry (attached as Exhibit A), and authorizes the Mayor to execute said document on <br />behalf of the City. <br />SECTION H. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the <br />provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION HI. Severabilitv. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution <br />proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the <br />validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br />SECTION IV. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br />its passage and adoption. <br />
