RESOLUTION 14 -2653 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />ADOPTING THE FINAL MILLAGE RATE OF 5.4500 MILLS FOR THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING <br />OCTOBER 1, 2014 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30,2015; ANNOUNCING <br />THE PERCENTAGE BY WHICH THE OPERATING MILLAGE <br />EXCEEDS THE ROLLED -BACK RATE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry held an initial public <br />hearing as required by Florida Statute 200.065 on the tentative millage rate on September 8, <br />2014; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry has determined that a tax <br />levy of 5.4500 mills should be levied on all taxable real and personal property in the City of <br />Casselberry Florida for fiscal year 2014/2015; and <br />WHEREAS, the gross taxable value for operating purposes not exempt from taxation <br />within the City of Casselberry has been certified by the Seminole County Property Appraiser to <br />be $1,090,002,235; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry desires to adopt the final <br />millage rate and publicly announce the percentage change by which the final millage rate <br />exceeds the rolled -back rate; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry deems that this Resolution <br />is in the best interest of the public health, safety, welfare and well -being of the citizens of <br />Casselberry. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRRY, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. Final Millage Rate. The City Commission adopts its final millage rate of <br />5.4500 for the Fiscal Year commencing October 1, 2014 and ending September 30, 2015. <br />SECTION II. Rolled -Back Rate. The final operating millage of 5.4500 mills is a 2.91 <br />percent increase from the computed rolled -back rate of 5.2961 as certified by the Seminole <br />County Property Appraiser. <br />SECTION III. Notification to Seminole County. Within three (3) days of the date of <br />this Resolution, the City Clerk shall forward this Resolution adopting the final millage rate to the <br />Seminole County Property Appraiser and the Seminole County Tax Collector. <br />SECTION IV. Notification to the State of Florida. Within thirty (30) days of the date <br />of this Resolution, the City Clerk shall certify compliance with Chapter 200, Florida Statutes by <br />causing the Certificate of Compliance, along with all necessary documentation, to be sent to the <br />Property Tax Administration of the Department of Revenue. <br />
