RESOLUTION 14 -2618 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />AWARD OF BID #C20140002 AND EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT <br />WITH THE MIDDLESEX CORPORATION FOR THE ROAD <br />REHABILITATION OF NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />AREAS 4 -7; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, as part of the Neighborhood Improvement Program, the City of Casselberty has set <br />aside funds for Citywide road rehabilitation; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselbeny requested proposals from qualified contractors via an <br />advertisement in the Orlando Sentinel on April 20, 2014 for the road rehabilitation of Neighborhood <br />Improvement Project (NIP) Areas 4 -7; and <br />WHEREAS, on May 20, 2014 the City held a public bid opening where four (4) sealed bids were <br />received; and <br />WHEREAS, The Middlesex Corporation submitted the lowest responsive, responsible, and <br />adequate bid in the amount of $1,535,583.15 and has experience performing similar work; and <br />WHEREAS, Public Works Department staff has reviewed the bid proposal from The Middlesex <br />Corporation and finds it adequate to meet the project requirements of the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Conunission of the City of Casselberty hereby awards the bid and approves <br />the construction agreement with The Middlesex Corporation for road rehabilitation for the NIP Areas 4 -7, <br />for an amount of 1,535,583.15, and authorizes the Mayor to execute said document on behalf of the City. <br />SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the <br />provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION III. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution proves to be <br />invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effect <br />of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br />SECTION IV.
