RESOLUTION 14 -2599 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT #5 WITH WHARTON- SMITH, INC. FOR <br />ADDITIONAL DESIGN AND PRE- CONSTRUCTION SERVICES <br />RELATED TO THE EMERGENCY GENERATOR REPLACEMENTS AT <br />THE NORTH AND HOWELL PARK WATER TREATMENT PLANTS; <br />PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City owns, operates and maintains three water treatment plants that <br />require continuous operation; and <br />WHEREAS, emergency generators are located at each water treatment plant to provide <br />electricity during power outages to continue the provision of potable water to the City's <br />customers; and <br />WHEREAS, the emergency generators at the North and Howell Park Water Treatment <br />plants are nearing the end of their service life and require updating; and <br />WHEREAS, via Resolution 12 -2344, the City entered into an agreement with Wharton - <br />Smith, Inc. to provide Construction Management at Risk for Projects under $2M; and <br />WHEREAS, via Resolution 13 -2557, on December 9, 2013 the City awarded design and <br />pre- construction services related to emergency generator replacements for the North and Howell <br />Park water plants with Amendment #3 to Wharton- Smith, Inc.; and <br />WHEREAS, during early project development for the emergency generator <br />replacements, Public Works staff observed the need to incorporate the Howell Park office into <br />the emergency power generator at the Howell Park Water Treatment plant; and <br />WHEREAS, Wharton- Smith, Inc. has submitted Amendment #5 to said Agreement to <br />provide for the design of the emergency generator upgrades at the North and Howell Park water <br />treatment plants and provide additional design and pre - construction services for an amount not to <br />exceed $5,400; and <br />WHEREAS, Public Works staff has reviewed Amendment #5 to the agreement with <br />Wharton- Smith, Inc. and finds it favorable to meet the needs of the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves <br />Amendment #5 to the agreement with Wharton- Smith, Inc. to provide additional design and pre - <br />construction services related to emergency generator upgrades at the North and Howell Park <br />
