RESOLUTION 14 -2565 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A REVISED INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH SEMINOLE COUNTY FOR THE FLORIDA YARDS AND NEIGHBORHOODS PROGRAM; REPEALING RESOLUTION 13 -2541; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission approved Resolution 13 -2541 on October 28, 2013 which authorized an Interlocal Agreement with Seminole County for the Florida Yards and Neighborhoods Program; and WHEREAS, Seminole County has suggested revisions to the Interlocal Agreement to address various issues including date conflicts, clarification of term and language inconsistencies; and WHEREAS, the Florida Yards and Neighborhoods (FYN) Program provides information and education to the public to promote Florida - friendly landscaping practices that conserve resources and protect the environment; and WHEREAS, as part of the Lake Jesup Basin Management Action Plan, the City receives nutrient load reduction credit for educational efforts through FYN; and WHEREAS, Seminole County administers FYN through the University of Florida/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Cooperative Extension Service Office; and WHEREAS, Seminole County has proposed to extend FYN- related services to the City through the revised Interlocal Agreement; and WHEREAS, Public Works staff has reviewed the revised Interlocal Agreement with Seminole County and finds it sufficient to meet the needs of the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the revised Interlocal Agreement with Seminole County for the Florida Yards and Neighborhoods Program, and authorizes the Mayor to execute said agreement on behalf of the City. SECTION H. Conflicts. That Resolution 13 -2541 is hereby repealed in its entirety, and all Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed.
