h. Workshops. The City Commission holds Workshops to consider certain items which are not ready for official action. Typically the City Commission uses Workshops as an opportunity to discuss these matters among themselves and with City staff. While any member of the public is welcome to provide comments to Commission and staff at any time outside a meeting, public comment will generally not be heard at Workshops, although the public is always welcome to attend. Public comment on Workshops items will be available at the very next regular City Commission meeting following the Workshop. 7. Consent Agenda. The Consent Agenda shall be limited to those items which are reasonably expected to be approved by the Commission. Items placed on the Consent Agenda will not be discussed or debated at any length, other than brief questions or clarifications. If one or more members of the Commission wish to discuss or debate any one or more issue(s) on the consent agenda, he or she may make a request to remove such item(s) from the Consent Agenda to be considered independently immediately following action on other items that may be on the Consent Agenda. One singular motion and vote will be taken to approve or deny the Consent Agenda as presented and/or modified. The public may comment on the Consent Agenda prior to a vote on the Consent Agenda. 8. Public Hearings. In keeping with Section 166.041(3)(a) of the Florida Statutes regarding due process, the Second Readings of all proposed Ordinances shall be held during the Public Hearing segment of the agenda. The Commission will accept public input on the individual items appearing on the agenda as each item is addressed by the Commission. Public Hearings occur when the law (Federal, State, or Local) requires the Commission to receive public input prior to malting a decision. After the requirements of due process have been satisfied, the presiding officer will formally close input, and action will be taken by the Commission. Adopted via Resolution 13 -2536 on 9/23/13
