RESOLUTION 13 -2531 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE AWARD <br />OF BID FOR RFP #C20130003 AND EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH <br />THE MIDDLESEX CORPORATION FOR THE CASSEBERRY ROAD <br />REHABILITATION AREAS 1 - 3 PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, as part of is Neighborhood Improvement Program, the City of Casselberry has set <br />aside funds for Citywide road rehabilitation; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry requested proposals from qualified contractors via an <br />advertisement in the Orlando Sentinel on August 4, 2013 for the Road Rehabilitation Areas 1 - 3 Project; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, on September 3, 2013 the City held a public bid opening where four (4) sealed bids <br />were received; and <br />WHEREAS, The Middlesex Corporation submitted the lowest responsive, responsible, and <br />adequate bid in the amount of $1,973,345.55 and has experience performing similar work; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff has reviewed the bid proposal from The Middlesex Corporation and finds it <br />adequate to meet the project requirements of the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF CASSEBBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby awards the bid for RFP <br />#C20130003 to, and approves the Agreement with, The Middlesex Corporation and authorizes the Mayor to <br />execute said document on behalf of the City. <br />SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the <br />provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION III. Severabilitv. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution proves to be <br />invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effect <br />of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br />SECTION IV.
