Casselberry Housing Task Force <br />Minutes of June 19, 2012 Meeting <br />Page 2 <br />Mr. Don Martin, Community Development Director, gave an overview of the meeting schedule and topics <br />the Task Force would discuss. Mr. Martin outlined each meeting and which topics the Task Force would discuss. Mr. <br />Martin reminded Task Force members that the meeting schedule and topics are subject to change dependent on <br />consensus and discussion. <br />Mr. Martin also discussed a parallel schedule in which the Task Force would review updates and potentially <br />publically vet ideas for new Casselberry Golf Course opportunities. <br />Mr. Randy Newlon, Interim City Manager, commented on legal documents that exist in relation to the golf <br />course at the request of the task force. <br />Mr. Martin questioned the availability of Task Force members to convene as a fact finding body to observe <br />neighborhoods and housing. Consensus of the Task Force was in the event of a fact finding mission, a Saturday <br />morning would be the best time. Task Force consensus was to have a fact finding mission July 14, 2012 from 10:00 <br />a.m. - 12:00p.m. <br />Housing Data Analysis <br />Mr. Kyle Dudgeon, Economic Development Planner, reviewed information provided in a powerpoint <br />presentation. A copy of the powerpoint presentation is attached to and made a pad of these minutes. <br />Discussion <br />Lengthy discussion ensued regarding the opportunities presented by the closing of the Casselberry Golf <br />Course and there was positive consensus that a transformation of the golf course would bring value to the City. <br />The Task Force also discussed the media's relationship to the City's branding and the applicability of social <br />media and other forums as it relates to City perception. Dialogue also referenced the relationship between economic <br />development to housing as a key influential factor for future opportunity. <br />Before the next meeting, the Task Force was assigned to review lower taxable value neighborhoods on their <br />own. <br />Audience Participation <br />
