City of Casselberry Police Officers' and <br />Firefighters' Pension Board of Trustees <br />Minutes of August 14, 2012 Meeting <br />Page 5 of 5 <br />accurate calculation, but the Board must decide on the method to be used. <br />MOTION: Member James Strenth moved to continue the percentage of payroll method for <br />calculation of plan contribution, as presented. Motion was seconded by Member <br />Matthew Hettler. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 3-0. <br />Mr. Christiansen discussed the Sect 2012-148 Bill adopted, effective 07/01/2012. This Bill affects <br />insurance and retirement benefits, allowing an ex-spouse to continue to receive benefits as primary <br />beneficiary. Divorced members must update their beneficiary designation effective AFTER the date of <br />divorce, if the member wishes to continue to name the ex-spouse as the primary beneficiary. The City of <br />Casselberry must stay up to date on employees who get divorced while employed. <br />12. Adjournment <br />Member James Strenth inquired about Salem Trust CIC. Mr. Welker stated that they were not ready <br />to move on this yet, due to legality and other details. They are working on the structure, and will <br />present cost savings for plan administration, possibly at the next meeting. <br />MOTION: Member James Strenth moved to adjourn meeting. Motion was seconded by <br />Member Matthew Hettler.
