CITY OF CASSELBERRY <br />CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD MEETING <br />MAY 09, 2013 <br />Lei Keene, 285 Bernard Ave; Longwood, FL, stated she is the owner of Cash for Gold, along with <br />her husband. Ms. Keene stated all of her signs very clearly depict that it is a protest against the <br />ordinance that was past. It was a proposed ordinance without any notice to any of the business <br />owners especially her that the ordinance was even going to come into place. Ms. Keene stated the <br />signs used are the same as in 2010. <br />Sandra Smith, Interim Community Development Director was sworn in by Ms. McKinney. <br />Ms. Hale asked Ms. Smith if she has had communication with the owner about the signs. <br />Ms. Smith stated that she had not. <br />Ms. Hale asked if they had contacted her directly and if she would be the next step up over the Code <br />Officer. <br />Ms. Smith advised that she had heard from the attorney's, who requested information which Ms. <br />Jones provided and an email from Mr. Stuart. Ms. Smith also stated that based on the three factors <br />that were provided by Officer Hull the City made a determination that these signs met those <br />particular criteria. <br />Discussion. <br />MOTION: Mr. Lutz moved that this case be dismissed. The motion did not pass. <br />MOTION: Mr. Smith moved to find Respondents in this case were in repeat violation of City Code as <br />charged based on the Board's prior order entered against the same Respondent for the same violation. The <br />Respondent brought the property into compliance. A fine in the amount of $100.00 is hereby imposed for <br />3 days of repeat violation. Mr. Bakalla seconded the motion. The motion passed 3 -1. Mr. Lutz voted nay. <br />ADJOURNMENT OF MEETING <br />Mr. Smith moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:40 pm. Mr. Bakalla seconded the motion.
