CASSLLBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of March 12, 2012 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 15 of 16 <br />Thanked staff for their work on the regional grant application for the TIGER 2012 Discretionary <br />Grants Program. <br />Reported a request for proposal was advertised in the Orlando Sentinel to move forward on the studies <br />of the City's various impact fees. <br />Reported the offer for City assistance to Mr. Aaron Sarkisian in the replacement of the Casselberry <br />Trails BMX facility from the residential property at 71 North Winter Park Drive to a more appropriate <br />location had expired with no response received from Mr. Sarkisian. <br />• Distributed a litigation update summary to the City Commission. <br />• Reported on the progress of HB 1433 which relates to eminent domain. <br />Reported the proposed legislation to change the 2012 State primary election date died in Committee so <br />the City Election date will remain August 14, 2012. <br />Reported on legislation which passed regarding charges for public notices to appear on newspaper <br />online editions. <br />Announced the Board Appreciation Event will be held on April 16"' at the Country Club at Deer Run. <br />Commissioner Anthony Aramendia— Seat No. 1: <br />• Reported he attended the recently held Casselberry Chamber Gala and the Rotary Club's World's <br />Festival. <br />• Reported he attended the Music and Art in the Park event which featured food trucks on March 9t1' <br />• Reported he attended the Boy Scout troop appreciation dinner. <br />• Announced Earthfest is scheduled for April 28th at Lake Concord Park and will be sponsored by <br />Friends of the Park. <br />Commissioner Sandra Solomon — Seat No. 3: <br />• Reported she attended the Rotary Club's World's Festival and the Casselberry Chamber Gala. <br />• Commended citizen Andy Searles for his efforts to keep Casselberry Elementary from closing. <br />• Commended staff for the U.S. 17 -92 streetscape improvements. <br />• Stated she was looking forward to greater cooperation with Seminole County in the future. <br />
