CASSLLBERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of March 12, 2012 — Regular Meeting Page 15 of 16 Thanked staff for their work on the regional grant application for the TIGER 2012 Discretionary Grants Program. Reported a request for proposal was advertised in the Orlando Sentinel to move forward on the studies of the City's various impact fees. Reported the offer for City assistance to Mr. Aaron Sarkisian in the replacement of the Casselberry Trails BMX facility from the residential property at 71 North Winter Park Drive to a more appropriate location had expired with no response received from Mr. Sarkisian. • Distributed a litigation update summary to the City Commission. • Reported on the progress of HB 1433 which relates to eminent domain. Reported the proposed legislation to change the 2012 State primary election date died in Committee so the City Election date will remain August 14, 2012. Reported on legislation which passed regarding charges for public notices to appear on newspaper online editions. Announced the Board Appreciation Event will be held on April 16"' at the Country Club at Deer Run. Commissioner Anthony Aramendia— Seat No. 1: • Reported he attended the recently held Casselberry Chamber Gala and the Rotary Club's World's Festival. • Reported he attended the Music and Art in the Park event which featured food trucks on March 9t1' • Reported he attended the Boy Scout troop appreciation dinner. • Announced Earthfest is scheduled for April 28th at Lake Concord Park and will be sponsored by Friends of the Park. Commissioner Sandra Solomon — Seat No. 3: • Reported she attended the Rotary Club's World's Festival and the Casselberry Chamber Gala. • Commended citizen Andy Searles for his efforts to keep Casselberry Elementary from closing. • Commended staff for the U.S. 17 -92 streetscape improvements. • Stated she was looking forward to greater cooperation with Seminole County in the future.
