CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of December 10, 2012 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 15 of 19 <br />Mayor Glancy and the Commission commended staff on selection of the proposed members, stating that it was <br />an impressive selection of business owners and managers in the city who would have a good understanding of <br />what the City was trying to accomplish. <br />Budget Impact: There is no impact to the City's budget. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the City Clerk requested consideration of appointment of the <br />referenced candidates to the Economic Development Advisory Board. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Miller moved to appoint Heather Antonacci, Spencer Lloyd, <br />John Crossman, Glenn Ritchie, Trish Walden, John Eichelberger, Dave Randell <br />and Jason Ross to the Casselberry Economic Development Board. Motion was <br />seconded by Commissioner Hufford. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote <br />5 -0. <br />1 � <br />A. Future Agenda Items <br />Commissioner Miller stated he had met with a staff member from the Seminole County Health <br />Department which is sponsoring a lot of tobacco -free initiatives. He mentioned that they had worked <br />with Lake Mary to adopt a resolution opposing tobacco products which are packaged like candy and <br />have flavors that are appealing to children. He stated he would like to see a similar resolution <br />considered as a future agenda item. Ms. Reischmann indicated she could provide the language used <br />by Lake Mary to the Commission to review and see if it could be used for the City of Casselberry. <br />B. Municipal Advisory Committee ( MetroPlan) Report — Mayor GlancX <br />• Reported they had met last Wednesday and shared that a report from Lynx indicated ridership was up. <br />She also noted that the update from the Expressway Authority showed tolls were also up and there <br />was a 5% increase in trucks, which was a good sign showing goods were moving again. <br />• Shared information from a presentation on the American Maglev Project. She stated this was a very <br />interesting presentation about a very innovative publicly funded elevated magnetic rail system. She <br />stated they were looking at a project of this type in Orange County and were looking for support from <br />MetroPlan. <br />• Advised that Lake Mary Commissioner Lucarelli was pushing to have their 17 -92 widening project <br />from Shepherd Road to Lake Mary Boulevard moved forward, which if approved, would follow the <br />flyover project with additional improvements along the corridor. <br />• Reported on the proposed 2013 legislative priorities that MetroPlan had for transportation. She noted <br />that these included authorization of the implementation of local option gas taxes with a majority vote <br />
