CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of June 11, 2012 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 2 of 18 <br />Executive Assistant to the City Manager Judi Romboli was present at the meeting on behalf of City Clerk <br />Donna Gardner. Ms. Romboli called the roll of Elected Officials. All were present with the exception of <br />Commissioner Solomon. Ms. Romboli advised that Commissioner Solomon request for Excuse of Absence <br />from the meeting was on the Consent Agenda for consideration. <br />50 MINUTES <br />A. Minutes of April 13, 2012 - City Commission Retreat/Workshop <br />MOTION: Commissioner Aramendia moved to approve the minutes of the April 13, 2012 <br />City Commission Retreat/Workshop, as presented. Motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Miller. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 4 — 0. <br />B. Minutes of February 13, 2012 - Regular Meeting <br />MOTION: Commissioner Aramendia moved to approve the minutes of the February 13, <br />2012 Regular Meeting, as presented. Motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Miller. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 4 — 0. <br />A. Presentation: The Children's Cabinet of Seminole County <br />A presentation was given by Tara Hormell, Vice -Chair of The Children's Cabinet of Seminole County <br />regarding pertinent children's issues. A copy of the presentation is attached to and made a part of <br />these minutes. <br />B. Presentation: Effective Advocacy and Florida League of Cities Initiatives <br />A presentation was given by Kathy Till, President of Kathy Till & Associates, advocacy consultant for the <br />Florida League of Cities, briefing the Commission on advocacy initiatives for building state and local <br />government partnerships. Ms. Till distributed a checklist setting out some examples that can be followed to <br />implement strategies for fostering and strengthening positive relationships with state leaders in order to ensure <br />they fully understand and respect the unintended consequences of unfunded mandates and preemption of <br />Home Rule Authority. A copy of the handout is attached to and made a part of these minutes. <br />
