® Family Fun Day is tentatively scheduled for August 27. Class Athlete will run this <br />free (except for food) event. <br />® Soccer camp began at Secret Lake Park on Monday, June 13. This 2 week <br />camp meets daily, 9 am- 4 pm. This camp was sold out (45 children). <br />® The Latin Jazz Concert will take place on September 24 at Lake Concord Park. <br />EI Sentinel is the sponsor and will be celebrating their 10t" anniversary. Jessy J <br />and Ed Calle will be performing. <br />® The Orlando Concert Band, a 50 piece orchestra, will be performing for a special <br />"Halloween Classical Night" on October 29 at Lake Concord Park. The event will <br />include trick or treating and a costume parade for the kids (and possibly pets <br />too!). <br />® Track Shack will host the 5k run on September 10. The money raised from this <br />event goes back to the arts. <br />® The Golf Tournament will be held on a Saturday in October. During the past five <br />years, this event has raised $30,000 for the arts. <br />Board Member Reports <br />Ms. Herron asked if Celebrate Casselberry is one of the City's events. Ms. Simmons <br />said this is run by the Chamber of Commerce. <br />Ms. Keys said she attended the National Conference for Volunteer and Service in New <br />Orleans. She participated in a Kaboom project where she helped build a playground. <br />Ms. Keys gave Ms. Simmons some information about the Kaboom playground program. <br />Ms. Evans said the Artist's Way group will have a Celebration of Creativity on August 6 <br />at 7 p.m. at the Art House. This will be the opening of the group's exhibit called <br />Connections. The artwork will remain on display for the entire month of August. <br />Ms. Evans was approached by a citizen about the field lights at Secret Lake Park. Ms. <br />Simmons explained that the lights are on a timer and turn off at 10 p.m. The older kids <br />practice later and they have to be on for safety. <br />Audience Participation <br />Mr. John Casselberry, 700_S. Lost Lake Lane, asked if the schools were in summer <br />recess yet. Ms. Simmons said the schools are in recess. Mr. Casselberry asked if <br />there were any vending machines or food for sale at Wirz Pool. Ms. Simmons said <br />there are no vending machines/food for sale at Wirz Pool due to a limited amount of <br />staff and vandalism. She also said that most people come to the pool and bring their <br />own food/coolers. <br />Adjournment <br />Ms. Eckhart moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:08 p.m. Ms. Herron seconded the <br />motion.
