CITY OF CASSELERRY PARKS RECREATION A®VISORY OAR® The City of Casselberry's Parks & Recreation Advisory Board held its regular meeting Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in the City of Casselberry Commission Chambers, 95 Triplet Lake Drive, Casselberry, Florida. June Herron called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. hoard Members Present: Jessica Eckhart Cheryl Evans June Herron Daphne Keys Michael Mason hoard Members Absent: None Staff Present: Maria Simmons, Recreation Manager Luis Cruz, Park Development/ Facilities Manager Alicia Kardell, Recording Secretary Approval of Minutes ~ Ms. Herron moved to approve the March 8t" minutes as written. Ms. Evans seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. ln/irz Trail Section I Update Mr. Cruz provided an update on Section I of Wirz Trail. The project is currently out to bid. A pre-bid meeting will be held tomorrow. Neighborhood Infrastructure Update for Area 1 Projects A PowerPoint presentation was given by Mr. Cruz. The proposed project areas include US Hwy 17-92 (Home Depot area) and Sunset Dr. A pedestrian sidewalk will loop around Home Depot and connect to Sunset. The City has an application to Metroplan Orlando for $300,000 for this project. Bicycle and pedestrian improvements are also planned for Southcot Dr. Ms. Herron made a motion to support the neighborhood infrastructure projects. The motion was seconded by Ms. Keys. The motion passed unanimously. Staff Report ® Ms. Simmons is creating a mission statement for the Recreation Division. A draft was shown to the Board. Ms. Eckhart mad a motion to accept the mission statement as written. Ms. Herron seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. ® The Earth Day Celebration will be held on April 23rd from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. in Lake Concord Park. Environmentally friendly vendors will be on site. The event will
