<br />CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of February 9, 2009 - Workshop <br />Page 2 of2 <br /> <br />Discussion: The City Commission discussed the designated parking alignment and agreed that it should be <br />parallel to the driveway. Discussion regarding front yard coverage ensued and consensus was that parking <br />would be allowed on one side and the driveway width should be limited to the width of the existing <br />garage/carport. Further consensus was reached that an impervious area maximum was needed, but a <br />maximum would not be necessary for pervious area. Consensus was also reached on the following: <br />Parking in circular driveways would continue to be permitted; parking on grass would not be permitted; <br />approved materials would include both pervious and impervious for existing propeliies, and impervious <br />materials would only be required for new and redevelopment construction; conformance requirements for <br />existing propeliies can be a combination of pervious and impervious materials, and a border or edging <br />would be required if impervious materials are used. <br /> <br />Lengthy discussion ensued regarding parking of vehicles in rear yards, implementation and enforcement of <br />the proposed new regulations, and the economic impacts to citizens if the new requirements required <br />retrofitting or upgrading their current parking areas. <br /> <br />Consensus of the City Commission was to continue discussion of parking in residential districts and <br />finalize Commission consensus on the subject by adding it to the Februmy 9, 2009 Regular Agenda under <br />Section 13, Discussion Items. <br /> <br />III.
