<br />CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of November 9, 2009 - Special Joint Meeting with the Lakes Management Advisory Board <br />Page 2 of2 <br /> <br />2. BRIEF PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Dr. Kelly Brock, City Engineer, gave a presentation which outlined the history of the Lakes Management <br />AdvisOlY Board, the credentials ofthe current board members, accomplishments and future tasks of the Board. <br />A copy of the presentation is attached to and made a part of these minutes. The Lakes Management <br />Advisory Board had requested the j oint meeting to discuss the board's role and to foster better communication <br />between the Board and the City Commission. <br /> <br />3. OPEN DISCUSSION <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the Lakes Management AdvisOlY Board's primmy concerns of project pre- <br />planning consultation and communication between the City and the Lakes Management AdvisOlY Board. <br />Members of the Lakes Management AdvisOlY Board expressed their desire to assist the City Commission and <br />have a more active role in project pre-planning. The City Commission expressed its gratitude to the Lakes <br />Management AdvisOlY Board for their dedication and desire to have a more active role in project planning. <br /> <br />Suggestions to foster better communication included the following: <br /> <br />. Consideration of an advisory consultation with the Lakes Management Advisory Board prior to <br />moving forward on any matters relating to or impacting the lakes which come before the City <br />Commission, recognizing that the consultation may not be possible with some time sensitive matters. <br /> <br />. Consideration of having the Lakes Management AdvisOlY Board having regular joint meetings or <br />making regular reports at a City Commission meeting on either an annual or semi-annual basis. <br /> <br />. Schedule joint meetings between the Lakes Management AdvisOlY Board and the Parks & Recreation <br />Advisory Board. Staff would coordinate and determine the frequency of the joint meetings. <br /> <br />4.
