CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />· Stated an Attorney-Client Session was held earlier in the evening and asked the City Commission to <br />confirm that the Commission was in consensus to reject the approximately $50,000.00 proposal for <br />settlement by Southern Landscaping. The City Commission confirmed it was their consensus to reject <br />the settlement proposal. <br />· Reported Mr. John Casselberry has made a settlement offer of approximately $4,000.00 ($2,250.00 for <br />the lien, $1,000.00 for attorney fees and $800.00 in interest) for the Queens Mirror foreclosure case. <br />Noted there is approximately $34,000.00 owed ($26,000 in liens, $6,000 in interest, $1,435.00 in <br />attorney fees). Suggested a counterproposal be made to Mr. Casselberry to acquire more money and to <br />ensure that some additional work is done on the house. Commission consensus was to direct the <br />City Attorney to prepare a counterproposal to Mr. Casselberry. <br /> <br />16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT <br /> <br />. No report. <br /> <br />17. CITY COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS/COMMENTS <br /> <br />Commissioner Susan Doerner - Seat No.1: <br /> <br />· Stated she was unable to attend the jazz concert but stated the new park was beautiful. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jon Miller - Seat No.2: <br /> <br />· Thanked Gerald Paradise for his service as Community Development Director and extended best <br />wishes to him upon his retirement. Welcomed Don Martin as the new Community Development <br />Director. <br />· Reported he attended the jazz concert held October 24, 2009 and expressed gratitude to staff and <br />contractors associated with the development of Lake Concord Park, and the jazz concert. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sandra Solomon - Seat No.3: <br /> <br />· Reported she was unable to attend the jazz concert but stated the new park was beautiful and thanked <br />staff and contractors associated with the development of the park. <br />e Reported she recently visited Atlanta and noted they are currently experiencing the same economic <br />conditions. <br />· Welcomed Don Martin as the new Community Development Director. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Colleen Hufford - Seat No.4: <br /> <br />e Welcomed Don Matiin as the new Community Development Director and extended best wished to <br />Gerald Paradise upon his retirement. <br />· Stated she attended the jazz concert held October 24,2009 and thanked staff associated with the event <br />and the construction of the new park. <br />
