RESOLUTION 10-2179 <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry held an initial public <br />hearing as required by Florida Statute 200.065 on the tentative millage rate on September 13, <br />2010; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry has determined that a tax <br />rate of 5.45 mills should be levied on all taxable real and personal property in the City of <br />Casselberry, Florida for fiscal year 2010/201 l; and <br />WHEREAS, the gross taxable value for operating purposes not exempt from taxation <br />within the City of Casselberry has been shown by the Seminole County Property Appraiser to be <br />$1,147,833,852; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry desires to adopt the final <br />operating millage rate and publicly announce the percentage change by which the final proposed <br />operating millage rate does not exceed the rolled-back rate; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry deems that this Resolution <br />is in the best interest of the public health, safety, welfare and well-being of the citizens of <br />Casselberry. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRRY, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. Final Millage Rate. The City Commission adopts its final operating <br />millage rate of 5.4500 for the fiscal year commencing October 1, 2010 and ending September 30, <br />2011. <br />SECTION II. Rolled-Back Rate. The final operating millage of 5.4500 set forth in <br />Section I immediately above is a 11.44 percent decrease from the computed rolled-back rate of <br />6.1539 as certified by the Seminole County Property Appraiser. <br />SECTION III. Notification to Seminole County. Within three (3) days of the date of <br />this Resolution, the City Clerk shall forward the Resolution adopting the final millage rate to the <br />Seminole County Property Appraiser and the Seminole County Tax Collector. <br />
