Triplet Lake Dc•., C~sselbe~•~;Y, t;'L 32707 <br />A regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board was held Tuesday, April 13, 2010 <br />at the Casselberry Recreation Center located at 200 N. Triplet Lake Drive. Jtine Herron called <br />the meeting to order at 7:13 p.rrr. <br />Boan•d Members Present: <br />Butch Spence, Phyllis Sheppard, Michael Mason, June Herron <br />Board Members Absennt: <br />None <br />Staff Present: <br />Luis Cruz (Parks and Facilities Manager), Alicia Kardell {Admen, Services Office Assistant}, <br />Kelly Roberts (Planner) <br />Audience Present: <br />Johrr Casselberry <br />A»nroval of Minutes: <br />Phyllis Sheppard made a motion to approve the March 9r~' minutes as written. Jane Herron <br />seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously 3-0 (Mr. Spence arrived after the minutes <br />were approved). <br />Audience Pan•ticination: <br />Mr. Jahn Casselberry, 700 S. Lost Lake Lane, asked if there was a way for the Police to get into <br />the locked gate at South Seminole Middle Schaal err case there was an emergency on the bike <br />trail. Mr. Cruz said the Fire Dept. has keys and the Police Dept. most likely has keys as well. if <br />needed, they would use bolt cutters to get in, <br />Comnnuni Devela nrent Plaunin Exercise <br />Kelly Roberts, Planner with the City's Cornmtrnity Development Dept, is working on a long <br />range community revitalization plan for the City of Casselberry One element of the plan is the <br />public participation component. Ms. Roberts led the Board through a planning exercise using a <br />large map of the City of Casselberry. Each board member circled what they considered to be <br />their neighborhood on the reap. Board members were asked what made their neighborhood <br />special/unique and their likesldislikes. They were also asked what they thought could improve <br />the City. <br />Bike Tn•ail Update <br />Mr• Cruz has received the 60% review plans for Section 1 of the bike trail, He said drat the City <br />doesn't leave any easement agreements yet. He stated that he really needed the Board's support <br />on this section, Mr. Cruz said letters of support would be helpful to keep things moving with <br />Progress Energy, <br />
