RESOLUTION 10-2148 "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMNIISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN UPDATE TO THE LOCAL MITIGATION STRATEGY FOR SEMINOLE COUNTY AND ITS LOCAL MUNICIPALITIES; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." WHEREAS, via Resolution 98-1137, the City Commission approved City participation with Seminole County and other municipalities to develop a strategic plan ~ to prioritize mitigation initiatives and projects in order to receive consideration of grant and disaster funding from the Department of Community Affairs (DCA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); and WHEREAS, in August of 2000, the City Commission approved the initial Local Mitigation Strategy which provided for City participation with Seminole County and the other municipalities in Seminole County for afive-year period; and WHEREAS, the City Commission approved an update to the Local Mitigation Strategy, via Resolution 04-1488 in March 2004; and WHEREAS, the Local Mitigation Strategy requires continual updating to ensure mitigation initiatives and projects meet compliance for obtaining grants and disaster funding from DCA and FEMA before and after a disaster; and WHEREAS, approval of the updated Local Mitigation Strategy will provide for an additional five-year period (2010-2015) of continued participation for prioritizing mitigation initiatives and/or projects which are part of the plan; and WHEREAS, City staff has reviewed the update to the Local Mitigation Strategy submitted by Seminole County and find it favorable to the City. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMNIISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the updated Local Mitigation Strategy for Seminole County and its municipalities (attached as Exhibit «A»). SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. SECTION III. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution.
