Section 2. Automated Red Light Enforcement. Chapter 82, Article VIII, <br />Automated Red Light Enforcement, Sections 82-230 through 82-245 of the City Code of <br />the City of Casselberry is hereby amended to read as follows, with text stricken through <br />deleted from the Code of Ordinances and text double-underlined added to the Code of <br />Ordinances: <br />Sec. ~2-230. Legislative findings and intent/purpose. <br />~-: The purpose of this Ordinance is to authorize the use of t~anr-ed <br />n~+m°r~o/mnr,i~nrin'v ~."^+°,,,^ traffic infraction detectors to promote compliance with red <br />light signal directives as set forth in this Ordinance, and to adopt a civil enforcement <br />system for red light signal violations all in accord with aeneral law. includina Chapter <br />2010-80 Laws of Florida (20101 (the "Mark Wandall Traffic Safety Act" or "Act"1. This <br />Ordinance will supplement law enforcement personnel in the enforcement of red light <br />signal violations and shall not prohibit law enforcement officers from issuing a citation <br />for a red light signal violation in accordance with normal statutory traffic enforcement <br />techniques. <br />Sec. 32®231. Use of traffic infraction detectors ~°'^^ry^ ^^~*~~MA +,,,.~,~„~,.~;.,~. <br />The City shall utilize +r~age-Ea-~tt~r~tec~i^,-,u'~;e° ^° °~ ~^°'°m°^+^' traffic <br />infraction detectors pursuant to aeneral law _as a_means of monitoring compliance with <br />the state laws related to traffic control signals, while assisting law enforcement <br />personnel in the enforcement of such laws, which are designed to protect and improve <br />public health, safety and welfare.
