1, 1993. "Eligible employee" is an individual who was a Member before the first Plan Year <br />beginning after December 31, 1995 . <br />Souse means the lawful wife or husband of a Member or Retiree at the time benefits <br />become payable. <br />System means the City of Casselberry General Employees' Pension Plan as contained <br />herein and all amendments thereto. <br />2. Masculine Gender. <br />The masculine gender, where used herein, unless the context specifically <br />requires otherwise, shall include both the feminine and masculine genders. <br />SECTION 62-452. MEMBERSHIP. <br />1. Conditions of Eli ibilitX. <br />A. All General Employees who are employed by the City on or after <br />January 1, 1996 shall become Members of this System as a condition <br />of employment. <br />B. Notwithstanding subsection A., a General Employee employed on or <br />after January 1, 1998, or a part-time employee who becomes afull-time <br />employee on or after that date, may, in the event he has elected to <br />participate in the Defined Contribution Plan provided by the City, <br />within the first thirty (30) days of his employment or term, notify the <br />Board and the City, in writing, of his irrevocable election not to be a <br />Member of the System. In the event of such election, he shall be <br />barred from future membership in the System. <br />C. Notwithstanding subsection A., any General Employee who is a <br />Member of the System on December 31, 1997, may, on or before <br />January 31, 1998, notify the Board and the City, in writing, of his <br />irrevocable election not to continue as a Member of the System and his <br />election to become a Member of the City's Defined Contribution Plan. <br />-3- <br />
