2. Retirement Benefits. <br />A. Normal - a Member retiring hereunder on or <br />after his or her Normal Retirement Date shall receive a monthly <br />benefit which shall commence on his or her Retirement Date and be <br />continued thereafter during his or her lifetime, but with one <br />hundred twenty (120) monthly payments guaranteed payable in any <br />event. The monthly retirement benefit shall equal three percent <br />(3~) of Average Final Compensation for each year of Credited <br />Service. <br />B. Early - a Member retiring hereunder on or <br />after his or her Early Retirement Date shall receive a monthly <br />benefit which shall be computed as for Normal Retirement, but <br />shall be reduced 5/12$ for each month by which the commencement <br />of monthly benefit payments precedes the Member's Normal Retire- <br />ment Date. <br />3. Disability <br />A. Eligibility. Members shall be covered from <br />date of employment for disabilities which are determined by the <br />Board to have been incurred while performing duties as a Police <br />Officer or Firefighter of the City. Members shall be covered <br />following the completion of ten (10) years of Credited Service <br />for disabilities which are determined by the Board riot to have <br />been incurred while performing duties as a Police Officer or <br />Firefighter of the City. <br />B. Exclusions. A Member will be considered <br />totally disabled if, in the opinion of the Board, he or she is <br />wholly prevented from rendering useful and efficient service as a <br />Police Officer or Firefighter; and a Member will be considered <br />permanently disabled if, in the opinion of the Board of Trustees, <br />6 <br />
