CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of May 10, 2010- Regular Meeting Vage 14 of 15 • Noted Deputy Chief Bill McNeil was present and by action taken by the City Commission on the Consent Agenda, he would begin service as Interim Police Chief on June 4, 2010. • Clarified that the pension program is subject to collective bargaining in reference to a letter addressed to the City Commission from the Casselberry Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 3927 on May l0, 2010 • Reported the Second Quarter Goals update for Fiscal Year 2009-1010 was included with the agenda materials. • Requested that the May 24, 2010 City Commission meeting be cancelled. Commission consensus was to cancel the May 24`x' meeting. 15. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT • No report. 16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT Announced the City Election will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 for City Commission SeatNo. l , Seat No. 2 and Seat No. 3. The qualifying period for candidates is from Noon, Monday, June 21, 2010 through Noon, Friday, June 25, 2010, during normal business hours. Candidates qualifying by the petition method must submit petitions for verification to the City Clerk by 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2010. 17. CITY COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS/COMMENTS Commissioner Susan Doerner-Seat No. 1: • Inquired if discounted sewer hook up fees were still available to residents. Mr. Ed Torres, Public Works Director stated the discount rate for hook up fees is applicable when a new sewer line is installed for a year after installation. Commissioner Jon Miller -Seat No. 2: • Congratulated Bill McNeil on his appointment as Interim Police Chief. Extended best wishes to Chief Ruf on his retirement.
