<br />CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of January 12, 2009 - Workshop <br />Page 2 of2 <br /> <br />three (3) new building programs (Anniversary Park Site, Senior Center Conversion and City Center Site). <br />The following four (4) funding methods were discussed: 1) Dedicated Millage; 2) Community <br />Redevelopment Agency (CRA); 3) Public/Private Partnership; and 4) Borrow Against Sales Tax. Timing <br />advantages and disadvantages were also discussed. <br /> <br />Direction: Staff requested direction from the City Commission regarding whether to advance the civic <br />center concept now or to advance the concept later. If the consensus was to advance the concept now, it <br />was requested that additional direction be given regarding selection of the building program and a <br />funding method. If the consensus was to advance the concept later, it was requested that additional <br />direction be given regarding selection of a time to revisit the concept and a preferred funding method. <br /> <br />Further discussion ensued regarding the feasibility of some of the building programs, placing the matter <br />as a referendum on the next election ballot, and the public/private partnership and CRA funding options. <br />Commission consensus was to hold an additional workshop in order to have more time to discuss the <br />civic center prior to giving staff direction on the matter. <br /> <br />ill.
