<br />ORDINANCE NO. 09-1273 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, <br />FLORIDA AMENDING SECTION 70-2, PROPERTY <br />MAINTENANCE, OF CHAPTER 70, SOLID WASTE, OF <br />THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO INCLUDE TALL GRASS <br />AS A NUISANCE, AND TO INCLUDE PROCEDURES FOR <br />ABATEMENT OF NUISANCES; PROVIDING FOR <br />SEVERABILITY, CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS AND <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry desires to amend <br /> <br />Section 70-2 of the Code of Ordinances to provide more detail regarding the abatement <br /> <br />of nuisances, and hereby finds and determines that it is important to the citizens of the <br /> <br />City of Casselberry; protects the public health, safety and welfare; and serves a valid <br /> <br />and essential public purpose to have any and all legal remedies available to the City as <br /> <br />it enforces the codes and ordinances of the City. The City Commission also finds and <br /> <br />determines that it is beneficial for the City to have available to the City government an <br /> <br />array of legal remedies as the City seeks to maintain the high quality and standard of <br /> <br />living enjoyed by the citizens of the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City Commission of the City of Casselberry to <br /> <br />provide the City of Casselberry with all available legal remedies provided by state law <br /> <br />for the enforcement of the City's codes and ordinances and that all applicable and <br /> <br />permittable penalties provided by state law be available to punish violators. It is the <br /> <br />intent of the City Commission to provide, by means of the enactment of this division, an <br /> <br />additional and supplemental remedy to protect the public health, safety and welfare by <br /> <br />means of the enforcement of codes and ordinances and the abatement of nuisances; <br /> <br />and <br />
